The Weekend Warrior

Most credit cards give you flat rewards. The Fi MagniFi Credit Card (in partnership with Federal Bank) takes a different approach: it wants you to party on weekends.

It is a Lifetime Free card that supercharges your rewards on Saturdays and Sundays.

Benefit 1: The 5% / 0.5% Split

The reward structure is unique. You earn Fi-Coins which can be redeemed for vouchers or cash value.

  • Weekend Spends (Sat-Sun): 5% Value (20 pts/₹100).
  • Weekday Spends (Mon-Fri): 0.5% Value (2 pts/₹100).
  • Partner Brands: Up to 20% off on Zomato, Swiggy, Amazon, Zepto etc. (via monthly vouchers/offers).

The Catch: The 5% reward rate is capped. You can earn a maximum of ₹2,000 worth of reward points per month. This means it is great for spends up to ₹40,000 on weekends.

Benefit 2: Lifetime Free (LTF)

No joining fee. No annual fee. No spend criteria to waive fees. It is truly free.

ℹ️ Co-Branded with Federal Bank

This card is issued by Federal Bank. If you already have a Federal Bank credit card (like Scapia or Celesta), getting this might be difficult as the bank usually allows only one card per customer.

Comparison: Fi MagniFi vs Scapia vs IDFC Wealth

Feature Fi MagniFi Scapia IDFC First Wealth
Best For Weekend Spends Travelers Premium Lifestyle
Forex Markup 3.5% Zero 1.5%
Fees Lifetime Free Lifetime Free Lifetime Free
Lounge No Unlimited (Spend Based) 4/Quarter

The Deal Breakers

While the 5% weekend reward is great, there are downsides:

  • High Forex Markup: 3.5% markup means do NOT use this for international travel. Use Scapia instead.
  • Exclusions: No rewards on Fuel, Rent, Utilities, or Government transactions.
  • weekday Rate: A 0.5% return on weekdays is poor. Keep this card strictly for weekends.

Conclusion: Should You Get It?

Yes, as a secondary card.
Since it is Lifetime Free, there is no harm in keeping it in your wallet just for weekend shopping or dining. The 5% return is industry-leading for a free card.
