Is KnowYourFinance really free?

The iPhone app is free to download and does not use paid subscriptions or in-app paywalls for its core tools. The website may display ads to support publishing and ongoing maintenance.

Is my financial data safe?

Personal finance entries and core calculations are stored and processed on your device. Fresh articles, cards, lounge information and images use network requests, and hosting or delivery providers may process technical request information. You choose where to save or share exports. See our Privacy Policy for the app and website distinctions.

Does the app work offline?

Manual records and core calculations can be used offline. Fresh cards, lounge information, articles, images and external pages need internet access. An article is available offline only when its full content has been saved.

Which iOS version is required?

The current iPhone app requires iOS 18 or later. Some optional system features depend on the device, iOS version and availability.

How do I backup my data?

Open More > Backup & export, or Settings > Export Backup, then choose Finance Backup to create a supported restore file. Use Import Backup to validate and review a backup before restoring it. The JSON contains sensitive, unencrypted financial records; save or share it only where you trust. Planner scenarios and learning progress are not included. This version has no app CloudKit or iCloud sync setting; device backups are separate.

Can I export my financial data?

Open More > Backup & export for separate CSV, JSON or text data exports, a summary image and supported PDF reports. Report format and date controls explain their scope. Reports cannot restore the app; use Finance Backup for supported backup and restore.

How accurate are the calculators?

Calculators show estimates based on your inputs, stated assumptions and the rules represented in each tool. Rates, taxes and product conditions can change. Check current official guidance and review important decisions with a qualified professional; projections are not guaranteed returns or personal financial advice.

How do I delete my data?

Use Settings > Delete All App Data to remove local app records after reviewing the confirmation. Exported files, shared copies, device backups and information held by another service are separate and must be managed through that destination. Deleting the app is not a deletion request for website or support-service records.
