KnowYourFinance ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our iOS application handles your personal financial information.

Our Core Privacy Principle

We don't collect, transmit, or store any of your personal data on our servers. All data processing happens entirely on your device using on-device machine learning and computation.

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
• Financial data or calculations you enter
• Location data
• Usage analytics or behavioral data
• Device identifiers for tracking
• Cookies or similar tracking technologies

How the App Works

KnowYourFinance provides financial calculators and planning tools that work completely offline:

• Offline Tools: 22+ India-specific calculators (EMI, SIP, Tax, PPF, EPF, etc.)
• On-Device Processing: All calculations happen locally on your device
• Local Storage: Your saved scenarios and data are stored only in your device's local database (Core Data)
• No Transmission: No data leaves your device at any time
• No Account Required: Start using immediately without login or registration

Permissions We Request

Notifications (Optional)

We may request permission to send you local notifications for:

• Reminders for financial planning
• Goal tracking updates
• Calculation history reminders

These notifications are generated locally on your device and don't involve any server communication.

Note: The app does NOT request access to your SMS, email, contacts, camera, or any other sensitive permissions. It's a simple calculator and planning tool that works completely offline.

Data Storage

All data is stored locally on your device using:

• Core Data: For structured financial data
• UserDefaults: For app preferences
• Keychain: For sensitive settings (if applicable)

Your data is protected by iOS security features including device encryption and app sandboxing.

iCloud Sync (Optional)

If you enable iCloud sync, your financial data is securely synced across your Apple devices using Apple's CloudKit framework. This data:

• Is encrypted in transit and at rest
• Is accessible only by you through your Apple ID
• Is not accessible by us at any time
• Follows Apple's privacy standards

Third-Party Services

KnowYourFinance does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not use:

• Google Analytics
• Facebook SDK
• Any advertising networks
• Any crash reporting services that transmit data

Machine Learning

Our app uses on-device machine learning (Apple's NaturalLanguage framework) for:

• Auto-categorizing your financial entries (if you use income tracking features)
• Providing personalized financial insights based on your input
• Suggesting relevant calculators based on your usage patterns

All ML processing happens locally on your device. We don't collect training data or improve models using your information.

Children's Privacy

KnowYourFinance is rated 4+ on the App Store and can be used by anyone. Since we don't collect any data, there are no privacy concerns for users of any age. However, financial planning tools are generally more relevant for adults.

Changes to Your Data

You have complete control over your data:

• View: All your data is visible within the app
• Edit: You can modify any transaction or category
• Delete: You can delete individual transactions or clear all data
• Export: You can export your data in CSV format

Data Retention

Your data remains on your device until you:

• Manually delete it within the app
• Uninstall the app
• Reset your device

We don't have access to delete your data as we don't store it on our servers.

Security

We implement security best practices:

• Leverage iOS security features (encryption, sandboxing)
• Use secure coding practices
• Regular security updates
• No network communication for data transmission

Your Rights

Since we don't collect your data, traditional data rights (access, deletion, portability) are automatically fulfilled:

• Your data never leaves your device
• You have complete access through the app
• You can delete data anytime
• You can export your data in standard formats

International Users

KnowYourFinance is designed for users in India but can be used globally. Since all processing happens on your device, no data crosses international borders through our services.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

• Updating the "Last updated" date
• Showing an in-app notification for material changes
